World war 1 World War 1 ( 28 July 1914 to 11 November 1918) is also known as THE GREAT WAR, THE WAR TO END ALL WARS and GLOBAL WAR. It is called as Great War because a lot of people died in that war. CASUALTIES : ·         Approximately 17 Million people died in that war ·         11 Million were combatants. ·         6 million were civilians. ·         Also 20 million wounded in that war. INDIA PAKISTAN HISTORY :   Kashmir region was a part of Mauryan Emp ire. After Mauryan empire Kushans ruled the region. Kushans were Buddhist thats why Kashmir also became the centre of learning for Buddhism. The 4 th  Buddhist Council was also organised in Kashmir by Kanishka. After Kushans various Hindu Dynasties ruled Kashmir(around 5 th  – 14 th  century).The famous sun temple of Kashmir known as  Martand Sun Temple  was also built in this period.
